SCRJI is thrilled to announce a public storytelling showcase, featuring heartfelt and compelling personal narratives from storytellers who have been incarcerated or otherwise affected by what they have seen in the criminal system. The showcase will be held on:
April 3, 2025, 5 pm – 7 pm
at
Richland Library Main (1431 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC)
This event is a collaboration among SCRJI, Project READ, Restorative Media, and Richland Library’s Let’s Talk Race team.
The Bridging Worlds: Narratives of Law, Justice, and Connection program, designed to support storytellers who have had varying forms of contact with our criminal and carceral systems, was developed and implemented by Aparna Polavarapu of SCRJI, Christina Plakas of Project READ, and Troy Williams of Restorative Media. Over the course of 3 months, our storytellers cultivated their stories and experimented with various forms of storytelling during bimonthly facilitated workshops.
This public storytelling showcase offers an opportunity to engage with our storytellers and embrace our shared humanity. We hope to see you all there!
